Harry missed it. He missed to mount his broom, kick off from the ground and fly with a lot of speed through the cool air. It seemed like a long time since last time he had done that. So he had grabbed his broom after dinner that Friday afternoon, and carried it all the way down to the Quidditch field. He needed to fly. There was a cool breeze in the weather. Perfect flying conditions, too. Why not do this? He went in to the middle of the pitch. Luckily, no one was there. He had it all by himself.

Kate was wandering outside. She had finished her dinner early and had gone for a walk to get her minds off of things. She noticed someone flying on their brrom at the Pitch and made ehr way over, staring at them as she walked. She walked slowly, hands in her pockets and hair tied back half way for once, not covering her eyes or face. Once she was close enough to realize who it was, she smiled slightly, shook her head and stood, leaning against the bleachers, unnoticed.

Harry flew some more rounds, before he noticed the girl who had just stepped on the pitch. Kate Weston, his new Slytherin friend. He laughed to himself. She hated, when he talked about her house. She thought he was too judgemental on that fact. He thought he ought to show her something, and therefor he salto in the air, before landing right next to her.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her smiling.

"Oh, I dunno.."
She shrugged, smiling slightly.
"Finished dinner, felt like going for a walk, saw someone, you, flying down here, thought I'd watch.."
She nodded, biting her lip.
"If you want me to, I can let you practice and go back on my walk.."
She nodded, still biting her lip softly. She actually enjoyed talking to Harry, and didn't find it annoying, like she did tlaking to other people.

Harry grinned at her. She was his only Slytherin friend, and that was because she wasn't as arrogant and irretating as the others. He remembered very well when they had met in the library and everything had changed.
"Oh, no you may stay." He ensured her laughing. "Actually I wasn't practising. I was just bored and missed flying." He shrugged. "Do you play Quidditch?"

"I play during the breaks when I go home. My sister and I play with our cousins.."
She rolled her eyes, a smirk on her face. She didn't really like her cousins, but that was why she liked to play against them. It made the competition more fun.
"I can play just about every position.. except beater. I have horrible aim. I wind up hitting things 5 feet from what I was aiming for."
She laughed slightly at herself and shook her head. She hopped onto the bottom step and went up the stairs a bit, sitting down at eye level with him.

"I was told once, that I'd make a great Beater." Harry smirked, but changed it to a grin slightly after. "But I've actually never played any other position than Seeker."
He took a glance at the sky. It was getting late, and dark. The stars were in the air, glowing down on them.
"Would you like a ride?" He asked her. "Have you tried riding on a Firebolt before?"

"I've actually never ridden a firebolt."
She nodded and shrugged.
"Sure."
She stood up, scratching her head lightly. She wasn't too sure how this would go. She had never ridden something as fast as a firebolt, but she was usually up for anything. She shrugged and stood there for a moment before hopping down the steps.

Harry held the broom out for Kate to take. He wondered if she would even be able to control it. He couldn't recall ever seeing a girl ride his Firebolt. This would be the first time, then.
"You should start slowly." He tried to advice her, while waiting for her to take it.
As he stood there, he thought if it would be safer if he just went on the broom with her. He would be ahead, and she would sit behind him.
I'll give her a go first, and then we'll see. He thought.

She bit her lip and looked at the broom for a moment, before taking it. She stared at it for a moment before hopping on, sitting sideways, her legs hanging over the side.
"I'm a big girl.."
She nodded, smiling slightly.
"I think I can handle it. If not.. then I dunno.."
She laughed, a bit nervous and swung her leg over it, getting ready. She pushed of from the ground, shooting up into the air. She gripped it tightly, afraid at first. It was faster than any broom she had ever ridden, and that was a fact. She zipped around the pitch, dodging between columns and sets of bleachers. She slowed down, or at least, best she could, and touched down to the ground. She grinned and hopped off, falling over in a sitting position on the ground. She laughed at herself, laying on her back.
"That.. was great."
